Bulgari Highlights Its Colorful Past in Phenomenal ‘Polychroma’ Collection

The jeweler’s high jewelry collection features extraordinary gemstones, like a 241.06-carat emerald and the world’s fourth-largest spinel.

Bulgari Invisible Violet Necklace and Rainbow Flow Necklace
Bulgari’s “Polychroma” high jewelry collection is filled with colorful “millionaire products” including the “Invisible Violet” necklace, seen left, and “Rainbow Flow” necklace. All pieces are price upon request.
Taormina, Sicily—After giving the world a sneak peek at the Met Gala, Bulgari officially debuted its newest high jewelry and watch collection at a gala dinner and fashion show held Monday in Sicily.

The collection, called “Polychroma,” is an ode to the values of colors, plurality, polymorphism, and multidimensionality, the jeweler said.

It includes not only high jewelry and high-end watches, but also gemstone-set purses, eyewear, and perfume bottles.

The title, Polychroma, was chosen because “poly” means multitude in Greek and “chromia” means colors.

Bulgari said the collection is meant to bridge eras and cultures, crafting a kaleidoscopic dimension that celebrates color’s power to stir emotions.

With over 600 pieces, 250 are new creations, 60 are what Bulgari is calling “millionaire products,” and five are high jewelry masterpieces featuring rare and exceptional gemstones.

“Polychroma redefines the boundaries of craftsmanship, gemology, and goldsmithing excellence, with every piece standing as a masterpiece of art, each gemstone an expression of unparalleled rarity and beauty,” Bulgari Group CEO Jean-Christophe Babin said.

“This collection not only honors Bulgari’s heritage but also reaffirms our commitment to excellence, constantly pushing the limits of what luxury can represent.”

The collection uses 56 different gemstones in 16 different shapes and faceted, cabochon, and buff-top cuts.

Bulgari Celestial Mosaic Necklace
The “Celestial Mosaic” necklace showcases a 131.21-carat spinel from Tajikistan.

One of the highlights of Polychroma is Bulgari’s “Celestial Mosaic” necklace.

Inspired by the ancient city of Jericho’s “Tree of Life” mosaics and Mughal art, the necklace showcases a kaleidoscope of hues from turquoise to tourmaline, multicolor buff-top emeralds, onyx, and diamonds.

The centerpiece of the necklace is a 131.21-carat spinel from Tajikistan. Bulgari said it is the fourth-largest spinel in the world in terms of carat weight, and the largest of this quality.

Bulgari Cosmic Vault Necklace
The “Cosmic Vault” necklace features a 123.35-carat Sri Lankan sugarloaf sapphire in a deep and intense royal blue tone.

The “Cosmic Vault” is another standout in the collection.

Bulgari Creative Director Lucia Silvestri looked to the stars and the domes in the Roman skyline when creating this piece, making it a tribute to astral beauty and architecture.

At the center of the necklace is a 123.35-carat Sri Lankan sugarloaf sapphire.

The Cosmic Vault necklace also features 331 buff-top sapphires and 13 diamond drops.

Bulgari Polychromatic Bloom Necklace
The “Polychromatic Bloom” necklace depicts floral motifs with a 106.36-carat rubellite set inside blossoming petals. It is flanked by a 55.52-carat peridot and a 55.11-carat tanzanite.

The “Polychromatic Bloom” necklace is “one of Polychroma’s emblems,” Silvestri said.

The piece is filled with color and floral motifs as a trio of cabochon-cut gemstones glow from within rose gold petals.

The center stone is a 106.36-carat rubellite, flanked by a 55.52-carat peridot and a 55.11-carat tanzanite.

Bulgari Essence of Yellow Ring
The “Essence of Yellow” ring is modeled after a design created by Leonilde Bulgari in 1928, now with a more than 45-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond.

A standout ring from the collection is the “Essence of Yellow” Trombino ring, first designed by Leonilde Bulgari for her mother in 1928.

Today, the design is realized with a more than 45-carat Asscher-cut fancy vivid yellow diamond surrounded by 42 step-cut diamonds and pavé sets.

The Essence of Yellow ring was designed to radiate joy and the sun’s vitality, said the jeweler.

Bulgari Magus Emerald
The “Magnus Emerald” necklace features the largest stone that Bulgari has ever worked with, a 241.06-carat emerald.

The “Magnus Emerald” necklace is another piece in the Polychroma collection to feature a large gemstone, and it might look familiar to some, as Bulgari ambassador Priyanka Chopra-Jonas debuted the piece on the Met Gala’s blue carpet earlier this month.

The necklace’s centerpiece is a show-stopping 241.06-carat emerald, one of the most remarkable stones to ever emerge from the Colombian mines and the biggest ever used by the jeweler, Bulgari said.

The piece was designed to honor the gem’s vibrant green color, brilliance, and transparency with nods to the effortless elegance and free sophistication of the ‘70s, as well as bold architectural design.

The Polychroma collection also includes multiple high-end watches.

“Fine jewelry continues to redefine the boundaries of watchmaking, offering creations of continually renewed complexity and beauty. Each new development builds on its preceding one, continually pushing back the boundaries of what is possible,” said Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Bulgari’s product creation executive director.

“These creations are frequently inspired by our archives, thereby preserving a strong link with our heritage.”

Bulgari Serpenti Aeterna Watch
One of the watches in the Polychroma collection is the “Serpenti Aeterna” timepiece with diamonds and sapphires.

Among the watches in the collection is the “Serpenti Aeterna,” which is a contemporary take on Bulgari’s iconic snake motif.

It is crafted in white gold with a bangle-shaped bracelet.

The shape of the dial is evocative of a reptile, with brilliant-cut diamond pavé and blue or green hands.

It is available in two versions, one with diamonds and sapphires and the other with diamonds and emeralds.

Bulgari Gioco di Forme e Colori Watch
The “Gioco di Forme e Colori” watch features a sun-inspired dial cover that transforms into a brooch

The “Gioco di Forme e Colori” timepiece is more than just a watch; its dial is covered by a detachable brooch.

The brooch features a 12.34-carat tanzanite at the center of golden rays inspired by Rome’s sun, with emeralds, sapphires, rubies, garnets, and other gemstones radiating out.

To add to the maximalism, the timepiece has a playful bracelet with links that move from left to right.

It also features the “Piccolissimo” round mechanical micro movement, which is the smallest on the market.

“The Piccolissimo movement gives us the opportunity to explore new color palettes and revisit the composition of iconic watches. This miniature movement enables us to create jewelry watches of exceptional quality,” Stigliani said.

As part of Polychroma, Bulgari debuted one-of-a-kind purses with detachable jewelry closures that can be worn as pendants.

Throughout the bags, the jeweler’s “Serpenti,” “Monete,” and “Divas’ Dream” motifs can be seen.

The jeweler also launched a pair of one-of-a-kind “Serpenti” sunglasses in 18-karat rose gold with gold beads, brilliant-cut diamonds, and baguette-cut gemstone eyes.

Rounding out the Polychroma collection are three one-of-kind perfume bottles, each with a different scent.

Made from glass, each version features a detachable brooch encrusted with gemstones.

The full Polychroma collection can be seen on the Bulgari website.
